William “Bill” Mungle born and raised in Woodstock, passed away on March 14, 2022. He is the loving father of 2 daughters and 1 son; Lisa (Joseph) McNamara, Steven (Molly) Mungle, and Stacey (Ryan Schaid) Mungle, He was the doting grandfather of 8 Justine, Jeremy, Norah, Lilah, Allyson, Brenden, and Easton, great grandfather to Dalton. He is also survived by siblings, Ruth (Ken) Broedske, Ginnie (Frank) Piska, Gary Mungle, Mary (Paul) Kleven, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Eleanor Mungle, 2 brothers, Bud and Edward Mungle, 1 grandchild Meghan Mungle.
He started out as a driver for the Chaplin but decided it was just too much, so he joined the Army instead. He served in Vietnam as a gunner on "The Creeper" from Dec. '70 - Dec. '71. he worked for UPS as a loader and then a driver for a total of 30 years and 1 day. He loved to farm, and we believe he loved his cattle just about as much as his grandchildren! The county fair was a big part of his life, especially the 4-H livestock. He loved the Chicago Bears even with all the heartbreak.
A visitation will be held at Saunders Funeral Home, 1745 S. Eastwood Drive, Woodstock, IL 60098 on Saturday, March 19, 2022, from 9:00-11:30 AM with the service at 11:30 officiated by Pastor Claire Brennecka. Interment to follow at McHenry County Memorial Park.
