Stephen Brian Hunter, 63, of Woodstock, IL passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024. Steve was born on November 2, 1960, in Aurora, IL the son of Lawrence and Patsy (Morgan) Hunter.
Steve married the love of his life, Vicki Gehrke, on August 23, 1980, at St. Patrick’s Church in Hartland, IL. The pair was blessed with two children, Benjamin and Laura. He worked as an air traffic controller for 25 years for both the FAA, Federal Aviation Administration and Lockheed Martin. Steve was a private pilot and a member of the EAA, Experimental Aircraft Association. In his free time, he loved working on all things mechanical and electrical. He was a quiet and reserved man, with an exceptional sense of humor. Steve was a man of strong faith and made his spiritual home at Grace Fellowship Church in Woodstock.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife Vicki; son Benjamin (Janel) Hunter; daughter Laura (James) Mann; grandchildren Anuhea and Gabriel Hunter and Eloise and Madeline Mann; his parents Lawrence and Patsy Hunter; and siblings Kathy Deak, Tom (Michelle) Hunter, and Mary (Dan) Pauley.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 14th, at 1 pm, at Grace Fellowship Church, 200 Cairns Ct, Woodstock, IL, 60098.
