Mary Jewel Jurs, 86, of Belvidere and formerly Crystal Lake, IL, was called home to her Lord and Savior on September 27, 2024. Mary was born on August 29, 1938, in Suggtown, AR the daughter of Alvie Lee and Venita (Huffine) Mothershed.
Most of Mary’s working career was spent at Matrix and Catalent in Woodstock, IL, where she made many lasting friendships. Mary’s faith was incredibly important to her and evident in her acts of kindness and generosity. She dutifully donated her time and resources. Mary enjoyed visiting museums, and travelling, often finding treasures to add to her collections. Mary was a devoted member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Belvidere, IL. Aside from her faith, Mary valued family most. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother.
Survivors include her children Robin Vore, Mary Rudder, Jacqueline Tant, and Charles Rudder; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and her brother Alvie Lee Mothershed Jr (Lavonda).
She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Jurs, son George Rudder, sister Joann Cross, and her parents.
A visitation will be held from 10 AM until the 11 AM funeral service on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 with Pastor David Smith officiating at Saunders Funeral Home & Crematory, 1745 S. Eastwood Drive, Woodstock, IL 60098. Entombment to follow immediately at McHenry County Memorial Park.
