Larry S. Palmer, 74, passed away at Ignite Medical Center in McHenry, on June 6, 2022.
Larry was born in Belvidere, Illinois on April 1, 1948, to Eleanor (Geishert) and Maurice C. Palmer. He is the beloved husband of Margie (Kyle) whom he married fifty years ago on August 14, 1971 in Harvard, IL.
Larry served in the United States Navy for four years. Part of his service included being assigned to the USS Whetstone during the Vietnam War. He later established himself as a talented pipefitter and was a member of Pipefitters Local 597 until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, loved his faithful dog and birthday twin, Mabel, and cherished his family.
He is survived by his children Heather Palmer, Kyle (Bill) Hobson, siblings Maurice (Jeannie) Palmer, Dolores “Sue” (John) Heeter, sister-in-law Debbie Palmer, Russell Palmer, Barbara (Robert) Brandt, Linda (Brent) Palmer, grandchildren Mollie and Owen Hobson, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents Maurice and Eleanor Palmer, brother Duane Palmer, and sister-in-law Debbie Palmer.
A memorial gathering will be held at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL 60033 on Mon., June 13, from 11 AM - 3 PM.
