Irene E Selby

Irene Elizabeth Selby, 83, of Woodstock, died Friday, March 8, 2024 at her home.

Irene was born November 6, 1940 in Chicago to William and Jean (Klump) Guendling.  She married Arthur Carl Selby Sr. on June 30, 1962 in Chicago. 

Irene retired from the Post Office with over 20 years of service.

She enjoyed feeding and watching birds, playing bingo, and making blankets and dish rags for friends and family. 

Survivors include her children Arthur (Winnie) Selby Jr. of Crystal Lake, Scott Selby of Woodstock, Joseph Selby of Bartlett, and Diane (James) McCoy of Woodstock, 17 grandchildren Steven, Sarah, Shannon, Victoria, Jeremiah, Lucy, Scott, Joe, Jason, and Jamie Selby, and Pat, Danny, Justin, and Katie McCoy, Tarin Oswald and Phil O’Connor, 23 great grandchildren and sister Ruth (Bob) Divis.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur Selby, son Steven Selby, siblings Dick Mack, Billy Guendling, Lorraine Wedig and Judith Morin, and grandchild Chris McCoy.

There will be a Memorial Gathering from 3 to 6 PM on Sunday, March 24th at 31 North Banquets, 217 Front Street, Suite A, McHenry, IL 60050.
