Adrianna Lynn Stull

Adrianna lived her 31 years to the fullest before bravely succumbing to brain cancer on May 26, 2022 at her Woodstock home.  She was born July 10, 1990 to Nick and Terri Opie, and grew up in Marengo, IL. 

In high school, Adrianna developed a love of science and went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in science education from Roosevelt University.  She met the love of her life, Jeremy Stull, at the young age of 16 and they later married on July 30, 2011.   Adrianna and Jeremy lived in Schaumburg, Algonquin, and just over a year ago, built their dream home in Woodstock.  After teaching science at Alden-Hebron High School for four years, Adrianna accepted her dream position at Marengo Community Middle School in May of 2020 as a 7th and 8th grade science teacher. As an avid Harry Potter fan, Adrianna’s classroom motto was the “Room of Requirement”. 

Adrianna filled her life with many interests and passions. Disney movies, country music, escape rooms, and spending time with her family were essential.  Her intelligence and love of competition were perfect for the strategic board games she enjoyed with her husband, family and many friends.  She also loved the outdoors while sitting in the sun by a pool, or attending Jeremy’s softball games.  Adrianna and Jeremy both enjoyed travel, especially tropical locations, and had set goals for many worldwide excursions.  Hiking and exploring natural wonders, including caves and National Parks became favorites with them.

Adrianna and Jeremy adopted their poochon pup, Gannon, and he brought so much energy and joy to their lives. Adrianna and Jeremy spent every day building a beautiful life together.  Adrianna’s signature smile enchanted all, showing her genuine joy, love, and appreciation for her loved ones and life’s simple pleasures.  As a wife, daughter, sister, teacher and friend, she left an indelible mark on many lives.  To have known and loved Adrianna is an extreme blessing from our loving God. We rejoice in the knowledge that Adrianna is spending eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 

She is survived by her loving husband, Jeremy Stull, of 10 years, loving parents: Nick (Jodie) Opie and Terri (Matthew) Hallstein, loving brother:  Nicholas Opie, her beloved in-laws: Melissa (Daryl) Higby and Richard Stull, extended family: Emma Stull, Lucas Stull, and Abby Higby, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and step-siblings.  

Adrianna was preceded in death by her loving grandparents, Thomas and Marilyn Purdy and Lawrence and JoAnne Opie.  

A Celebration of Adrianna’s Life will be held on June 16, 2022 at Marengo Community High School, 110 Franks Rd, Marengo, IL. A time of visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 pm followed by a service beginning at 7:00 pm in the auditorium.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Adrianna Stull Scholarship Fund (Prairie Community Bank, Marengo, IL) to be awarded to a future educator/science-lover from MCHS.
