Born and raised in Harvard, Illinois, Michael D. Saunders began his college career at Tulsa University and then transferred to the University of Illinois. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Actuarial Sciences, and began working in Chicago as a retirement benefits data scrubber. Not long after, Michael decided to return to college to enter the funeral profession; he graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science and is now a Licensed Illinois and Wisconsin Funeral Director and Embalmer.
Michael is active in the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Harvard Moose Lodge, and the Illinois and National Funeral Directors Associations. He loves watching his daughter play competitive sports, traveling, golfing, bowling, running 5K races with his wife and daughter to raise money, and spending time with his family.
Michael has a daughter, Adelynn, that was born on April 3, 2006, and currently goes to Woodstock North High School. On October 6, 2018 he married Breanne Miller of Johnsburg, and she has worked over 10 years as a physical therapist assistant with Joe Majercik, which his office is now Northwestern Medicine Rehabilitation Services Woodstock Square. And their newest member of the family is their dog Finn (A Rottweiler-Doberman Mix) who was born on 7-11-2020. They currently reside in Harvard.
Julie was born and raised in the south suburbs of Chicago, she currently resides in Walworth, WI. A 2004 graduate of Worsham College of Mortuary Science, she started her funeral career at Pape Mortuary in Danville, IL.
She joined Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home in October 2013. Julie is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in the States of Illinois and Wisconsin, and is a Certified Crematory Operator.
She is an active member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Fontana, WI and a member of the Illinois and National Funeral Directors Association.
Julie has a daughter, Nicolette, and two Yorkies, Petey and Tyke. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, painting, reading, watching a good movie or being out in nature.

Born and raised in Harvard, Illinois, Lynn E. Saunders graduated from the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy in 1971. That same year, he married his wife Carol and began working as a Registered Pharmacist for Richardson Pharmacy in Harvard. In 1981, Lynn decided to enter the funeral profession and enrolled in mortuary school. He graduated in 1983 from Worsham College of Mortuary Science, and after a year of internship, became a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in 1984. Along with his father L. Ben Saunders and Kevin B. McFarlin, the firm of Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, Ltd. was formed. Lynn continues to operate the funeral home today.
Besides his wife Carol, Lynn has a daughter Christine, a son Michael, and his first grandchild born April 3, 2006: Adelynn; Michael is currently working as a licensed funeral director and embalmer at the funeral home.
Lynn is active in the Harvard Rotary Club, Trinity Lutheran Church, the Illinois and National Funeral Directors Association, is on the board of directors of Mt. Auburn Cemetery. He is past president of the McHenry County Funeral Directors Association, and he enjoys golf, bowling, and traveling.
Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Alyssa moved to McHenry County in 2011. She is currently a student at Worsham College, where she is earning her degree in Mortuary Science.
Before joining the funeral profession, Alyssa spent ten years as a caregiver for adults and children with developmental disabilities in the region.
She lives in Harvard with her daughter Talia, boyfriend Joel, and a turtle named Boots. In her spare time, Alyssa enjoys gardening, live music, stand-up comedy, and documentaries.
